Holly Van Apeldoorn

Southeastern Regional Director

Holly joined KDM Development in February 2011. She is a proven Regional Director who has a passion for consistently striving for the best performance in terms of client satisfaction, operational delivery and commercial performance. She has true leadership ability along with a history of nurturing and developing teams to reach their full potential. She is able to coach and lead by example, drawing from her previous experience within property management, marketing and event planning. You can rely on her to keep things running smoothly and to not ruffle any feathers along the way. With more than 20 years’ successful experience in customer service and support with recognized strengths in account maintenance, problem-solving and troubleshooting, staff support, and planning/implementing proactive procedures and systems to avoid problems in the first place, Holly has become a fundament part of our team. She possesses solid computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Excel, WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, SalesForce, Act and Rent Manager. In 2013 she received a company award for special services. In 2014 she became a managing partner of Lafayette SC and is looking forward to continuing her involvement in our ever-growing Southeastern projects. She served on the National Association of Women Business Owners Greater Raleigh chapter Board of Directors from 2019-2021 and was awarded their Corporate Partner of the year in 2018, Rising Star in 2020 and received their Mary Diener Spirit Award in 2021.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 4 children, signing in with church’s worship team and helping others become entrepreneurs with her involvement with organizations such as National Association of Women Business owners.

Kristin Thornburg

Southeastern Regional Property Manager

Kristin Kawazura Thornburg has worked in property management for 10 years, managing several successful properties including existing entities and lease up communities. Kristin has currently been with KDM Development for almost 6 years, managing one of KDM’s first multi-family properties and lease up, Luxury Apartments at Foxwood. Starting from the bottom up, she began as a leasing consultant and worked her way up. This has helped her bring positive energy and relatability to all her teammates. Kristin brings multi-unit management experience, training and development, and strong leadership skills to the KDM team.
